Problem Note 47065: Unable to open Microsoft Analysis Services OLAP cubes in the 64-bit version of SAS® Enterprise Guide® 5.1
When using the 64-bit version of SAS Enterprise Guide 5.1 to open a Microsoft Analysis Services OLAP cube using the Microsoft OLE DB Provider for Analysis Services 10.0, the following error occurs :
An error occurred opening cube "YourCubeNameHere". An unknown failure occurred while
connecting to the server or provider. No other information can be
surfaced. Specified cast is not valid.

The only workaround is to use the 32-bit version of SAS Enterprise Guide 5.1.

For software releases that are not yet generally available, the Fixed
Release is the software release in which the problem is planned to be
fixed.
The 64-bit Microsoft OLE DB for OLAP Provider 10.0 returns a different value than the 32-bit provider, which prevents the 64-bit version of SAS Enterprise Guide 5.1 from accessing a cube.
